When to Return

When to Return


The beauty of membership is you choose when to return! Go ahead, hold onto a coat or bag you love all season long. When you’re ready to let go, tap 'Swap' on the items you want to return to start a new order.

One-time Reserve renter? You can find your return date in your confirmation email. If it falls on a Sunday, you’ll have until noon on Monday to return your items.

Put your rentals in the garment bag they arrived in and be sure all accessories and handbags are back in their dust bags or boxes.

If you can, return items with the hangers and plastic bags they came with. We'll take them off your hands and make sure they're recycled properly. A win-win.

On occasion, shipments may arrive in a polybag or a cardboard box, which you can also use for returns.

Remove the shipping label from the plastic pouch on the outside of the garment bag. Replace it with the prepaid return label from the bag’s inside pocket.

Fold the bag, tuck in the handles, and zip it shut.

If your rentals came in a polybag or cardboard box, tape your shipping label to the outside of it and send it off.

If you’re in an eligible zip code (with more to come!), you’ll be prompted to schedule a home pickup while placing a new order. Don’t see the option? Customers in NY, DC, CH, Philadelphia, and Atlanta can return at their local Staples! Here’s how to make a return at Staples:

1. Pack up your rentals in the reusable packaging they came in and head to the RTR Drop-off Box finder to find your nearest Staples location.

2. Bring your package to the Print & Ship Center in your local Staples.

3. Present your QR code located at the bottom of your order confirmation email to a Staples representative.

4. Hand your package to the Staples representative. That’s it!

We have fulfillment centers in both Texas and New Jersey, so your shipments may occasionally arrive in two separate packages.

After you mark your items “returning” and place a new order, we assume the next shipping label that is scanned at a drop-off location will include those returns. If you happen to use a shipping label associated with another account, your drop off will not be reflected and you won't receive real-time updates on your returns' journey back to us. Your return will be recognized once it gets back to RTR.
